Radio Rivadavia reports on X (former Twitter) that Argentine livestock will implement a historic change with a new system of mandatory traceability for cattle and cervids, in order to improve beef exports.
This electronic system will replace manual traceability and will gradually start operating on March 1, 2025, for calves, being mandatory for all cattle from July 1, 2026.
Argentina has approximately 53.5 million head of cattle. The transition will be financed by a loan from the World Bank, which will allow producers to access the electronic device free of charge until that date.
