In Q2 2024, Amer Sports, the parent company of Salomon, reported strong financial results.
Salomon's footwear significantly contributed to this success, driving growth within the company's Outdoor Performance segment. The segment saw an 11% increase in sales, reaching $304 million, with a 66% revenue share for Salomon Footwear & Apparel.
Salomon's innovative footwear, blending technical mountain features with everyday style, has resonated with consumers globally, especially in the Asia-Pacific region and Greater China.
Salomon's popularity in China has led to the creation of a new "Outdoor sneakers" category, appealing to younger consumers. To capitalise on this momentum, Amer Sports expanded Salomon's retail presence by opening 27 new stores in Greater China and flagship locations in Japan and Paris.
James Zheng, Amer Sports CEO and interim CEO of Salomon, emphasised the brand's potential for further growth, noting Salomon's room for expansion within the global sneaker market. The company foresees continued double-digit annual growth for Salomon's soft goods, driven by strong consumer demand and strategic store expansions.
