US sales deliver growth for Acushnet

Golf clothing, footwear and equipment group Acushnet has reported revenues of just over $2 billion for the first nine months of 2024, an increase of 2.2% year on year.
The group’s biggest successes over the period were rises in revenue from sales in its home country, the US. There, sales increased by 6.9% to reach $1.2 billion, compensating for falls elsewhere.
In Europe, Acushnet’s revenues fell by 1% to reach $263.9 million, while in South Korea the decline was of 6.3% to give sales of $226.2 million. The group’s results in Japan for the nine-month period were down by 8% to $108.7 million.
Its biggest-selling category was Titelist golf balls, which brought in revenues of $646 million over the period, up by 3.8%.
This was followed by Titelist golf clubs, which achieved sales of $595.3 million, an increase of 8.3% year on year. The same brand’s golf gear category brought in $188.7 million, up by 4.1%.
The group’s FootJoy brand contributed $482.8 million to the total, but this figure represents a fall of 17.4% compared to the same period last year.
Chief executive, David Maher, said Acushnet remained committed to providing “great product and service experiences” to customers. He said Acushnet’s target customer is “the game’s dedicated golfer”.
